Oriana Fallaci, Italien und der Islam
In einem jetzt im New Yorker erschienenen Interview, holt Oriana Fallaci zu einem Rundumschlag aus. Immerhin ist der Artikel mit dem Titel «The Agitator» ganze zehn Seiten lang. Die Journalistin Margaret Talbot, scheint sich mit Oriana Fallaci bestens verstanden zu haben, wenn diese von ihrer Kindheit in Florenz oder Interviews mit Henry Kissinger oder Khomeini erzählt. Silvio Berlusconi und Romano Prodi nennt die Fallaci "two fucking idiots", selbstredend hat sie keinen der beiden gewählt. Als Journalistin war sie schon immer für ihre Provokationen bekannt. So verwundert es nicht, dass sie jetzt im hohen Alter von immerhin 77 Jahren, da noch einiges hinzufügt. Was gar den Bau eines islamischen Zentrums und einer Moschee in Colle Val d’Elsa betrifft, da sei die alte Widerstandskämpferin und potentielle Bombenlegerin vor: “If I’m alive, I will go to my friends in Carrara—you know, where there is the marble. They are all anarchists. With them, I take the explosives. I make you juuump in the air. I blow it up! With the anarchists of Carrara. I do not want to see this mosque—it’s very near my house in Tuscany. I do not want to see a twenty-four-metre minaret in the landscape of Giotto. When I cannot even wear a cross or carry a Bible in their country! So I BLOW IT UP! ” Wer arriviert wie sie, ein Haus an der Upper East Side von Manhattan bewohnt, dazuhin noch ein Apartment in Florenz und einen Landsitz in der Toskana sein eigen nennt, kann sich solch pointierte und überzogene Standpunkte leisten. Auf billige Art und Weise werden von ihr Vorurteile bedient, Mexikaner und vor allem Muslime, kommen bei ihr verdammt schlecht weg: “Look at the Muslims: in Europe they go on with their chadors and their burkas and their djellabahs. They go on with the habits preached by the Koran, they go on with mistreating their wives and daughters. They refuse our culture, in short, and try to impose their culture, or so-called culture, on us. . . . I reject them, and this is not only my duty toward my culture. Toward my values, my principles, my civilization. It is not only my duty toward my Christian roots. It is my duty toward freedom and toward the freedom fighter I am since I was a little girl fighting as a partisan against Nazi-Fascism. Islamism is the new Nazi-Fascism. With Nazi-Fascism, no compromise is possible. No hypocritical tolerance. And those who do not understand this simple reality are feeding the suicide of the West.” Bei ihrem Kreuzzug gegen den Islam (speziell in Italien), könnte man ihr Xenophobie vorwerfen oder ihr zumindest den Rat geben, einen kurzen Blick auf die Statistik und die Ausländische Bevölkerung in den EU-Mitgliedstaaten, 1990 und 2004 zu werfen. Die Zahlen für Ausländer in Italien, sind im Vergleich zur Situation in vielen anderen Ländern der europäischen Union verhältnismässig niedrig. Ansonsten ist das Interview, unterbrochen vom Temperament Oriana Fallacis "Mamma Mia! Mamma Mia!" und einem Ausflug in die Küche zu Cotechino, Polenta, Champagner und Dessert, durchaus unterhaltsam und lesenswert.
